News Releases

Japan Cornstarch has had its halal certification renewed (for the third time running)!

Japan Cornstarch Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Soichiro Kurachi), a general manufacturer of starch products, is pleased to announce that it has completed a renewal audit undertaken by the halal certification authorities for corn starch products, saccharized products (syrup, isomerized liquid sugar, etc.), and chemical starch products from its Kinuura plant.

Halal is a set of standards ensuring safety and peace of mind for Muslims. As a manufacturer of ingredients, we believe that we should do our utmost to ensure that Muslims living in Japan or visiting as tourists are able to rest at ease when eating Japanese food products. As such, we are continuing to obtain halal certification.

With Japanese food products receiving acclaim overseas, the number of our customers considering exports to the Islamic world is increasing. This requires the raw ingredients used in the exported products to be halal compliant, and that internationally recognized halal certification is obtained. Therefore, as a general manufacturer of starch products, Japan Cornstarch enterprises will come together as one to further improve our quality, so that we can deliver safer and more reliable products to our customers. Moreover, through constant evolution, we hope to continue contributing to society.
