“Baden no Kawari,” the your answer for potato starch

Comprehensive starch manufacturer Japan Corn Starch Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Soichiro Kurachi) announces mass production of “Baden no Kawari” potato starch alternative for customers who are having trouble procuring potato starch.

“Baden no Kawari” has characteristics and performance nearly identical to potato starch characteristics and effects, gelatinizes easily and has high viscosity. When used in fish paste products you won’t be disappointed with the finished chewy and tender textures, just like when using potato starch. In maintaining quality since it has excellent water holding properties it keeps well in the refrigerator. Indeed, our new “Baden no Kawari” product has almost identical characteristics and effects as potato starch, and can be used for making fish paste, hams and sausages, noodles and more.

We hope to contribute in any small way we can to those in the food industry that use potato starch for fish paste, etc., by quickly meeting the demand of customers who are having trouble procuring potato starch, and by providing products with comparable quality and performance.

Our factory will be operating at full capacity throughout the 10-day Golden Week holiday and the order center will be open at the usual hours. If anyone is having trouble getting deliveries during Golden Week, please feel free to contact us.
